Break-even ROAS calculator

The return on ad spend an order has to produce before it makes you a cent. Enter your order value, cost of goods, fulfilment and fees, and see your floor and your target side by side.

  • Strips GST out before calculating, and shows what your ad platform will report if your tracking sends GST-inclusive values
  • Handles refunds, payment fees and percentage or dollar cost of goods
  • Gives break-even ROAS, ACOS, cost per order and a target ROAS at the margin you want to keep

How much budget it actually takes to hit a lead or sales target, or what a fixed budget will realistically return. Works in both directions from the same three numbers.

  • Solve for the budget you need, or for the results a set budget will produce
  • Daily budget, clicks, impressions and cost per conversion in one view
  • A sensitivity table showing how much your conversion rate moves the answer

CAC payback & LTV:CAC calculator

What a customer costs to acquire, what they are worth over their life, and how many months it takes to get the acquisition cost back. The argument for and against buying growth.

  • Customer acquisition cost from real spend and customer counts, not a guess
  • Margin-based lifetime value rather than the revenue figure everyone quotes
  • LTV to CAC ratio and payback period in months, with the assumptions made explicit

UTM campaign URL builder

Build tagged campaign URLs that report cleanly. Platform presets for Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and email, with the dynamic parameters filled in for you.

  • Presets carry the correct source and medium plus each platform's dynamic parameters
  • Forces lower case and tidies spaces, which is what stops one campaign splitting into four rows
  • Warns on missing protocol, existing parameters and anything that looks like personal data

Which one would you actually use?

These cover the questions that come up most often. If something you need is missing — ad spend waste, in-house versus consultant cost, a channel-specific model — say so and it gets built next.

How to use them

Built to be argued with.

These are the same calculations used when setting targets on a real account. They are deliberately transparent, so you can check the working rather than trust a number.

01

Use your own figures

Pull the numbers from your accounting system, not from memory and not from an industry benchmark. A calculator fed with estimates returns an estimate, and the further those inputs sit from reality, the further the answer will too.

02

Check the formula

Every tool shows the maths behind it on the page. If a result looks wrong, work through the formula with your own figures. Where the calculator and your accounts disagree, your accounts are right.

03

Verify before you act

These are estimating tools, not advice. Reconcile anything you plan to act on against your own records, and run material decisions past your accountant or adviser before changing budgets or bid targets.

About these calculators

Every tool on this page is an educational estimating tool, not advice. The results are illustrative only and must not be relied upon as financial, accounting, taxation, investment, legal or professional advice. They do not take your objectives, financial situation or particular needs into account.

Results depend entirely on the figures you enter and on simplified models that exclude many real-world variables, including fixed costs, tax treatment, seasonality, lifetime value, attribution differences and product-level variation. Outputs are not forecasts, projections, guarantees or predictions of performance. Returns vary by industry, and any figures shown on this site are illustrative of well-optimised accounts rather than typical or expected results.

Verify independently. Before making any business, budgeting or bidding decision, reconcile these figures against your own accounting records and seek advice from a qualified accountant, tax agent or licensed financial adviser familiar with your circumstances.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Paid Media Plus makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, reliability or fitness for purpose of any calculator or its output, and accepts no liability for any loss, damage or cost arising directly or indirectly from its use or from reliance on any figure it produces. Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Each calculator also carries its own disclaimer covering the specific limitations of its model. Use of these tools is governed by our terms of use and privacy policy. All figures are in Australian dollars.
